Monuments

Don Quixote's Nemesis - Venturing within La Mancha, the windmills of Consuegra are a sight to behold.

The vast surrounding plains are dwarved by the heights of these windmills. These, fueled by breezes and gusts of air, daring enough to climb the hills that inspired Miguel de Cervantes.

Arched City - From an imposing balcony of Leiria's Castle, lies the cityscape.

A memory of the old emerging from the new.

Fairy tale house - Welcome all! To Sigurda Castle! To be reminded of an older and simpler time!

It is a gothic 19th century manor. But more than that, is an inspiration for visitors that believe in fairy tales.

Eons Passed - Time does not wait. Although some amalgams of stone bear witness to its slow pace.

These are the ruins of Alter Pedroso. Go beyond the arches and go up the staircase.

Bridged - Cross the Tagus River, enter Toledo's narrow streets and inhale its wide magnificence!

PS: Toledo is quite crowdy, but it is one of the most beautiful cities that I have visited.

Patriotism - Enhanced by the Portuguese flag, the romance lingers in the breeze around Pena Palace in Sintra.

The wind whispers tales of history, art and nature.

Ambar Nights... - Unplanned snapshots invade perspectives even at less favorable angles.

I will forever remember Palanga (Lithuania), one of the European capitals of Ambar. This religious monument is not made of it, but it striked me as similar enough.

Green pastures, stone walls - Castle Classiebawn in Sligo, Ireland,  built in the 19th century.

It barely stands out in the landscape, due to the distracting beauty of the scenery next to the Atlantic Ocean. imagine that...
